'I think we're out of our element': Chip and Joanna Gaines remodel their Waco hotel in new trailer for their upcoming HBO Max series Fixer Upper: The Hotel
Joanna Gaines and husband Chip gave a first look at their upcoming new HBO Max show Fixer Upper: The Hotel, which is set to be released this fall.
The first trailer, released on Wednesday, began with the power couple standing next to each other in matching black t-shirts as they revealed they had some exciting news.
After the 44-year-old nudged her spouse to share their announcement, he returned to the screen in a red bellman uniform with gold buttons and raved: 'Y'all, we are going to have a hotel in downtown Waco, Texas!'
As footage panned to them exploring the property, Chip said: 'When you think about a 50,000 square foot hotel remodel, this is the big leagues, this is what you dream about.'
Later, he admitted that he and Joanna were 'out of' their 'element to some extent but' 'felt up to the challenge.'

In a statement, obtained by Variety, the six-episode series will show the duo doing what they 'are most passionate about — hospitality, restoration and home.'
'We’ve always been firm believers in the value of home, as a place but also as a feeling. Our dream for this hotel is that it would serve as an extension of home to every guest who comes to stay,' the couple, who share five children, said.
In November, Chip and Joanna told the outlet that 'this has been the biggest project of' their lives.
The couple have plans to transform the property into 'Hotel 1928, a boutique hotel located a few blocks from Magnolia Market at the Silos,' according to the publication.
Their hotel in downtown Waco, Texas was previously the Grand Karem Shrine building.
According to Architectural Digest, much of the structure remains unchanged, and it still features decorative symbols of Freemasons and Shriners.

'It's gonna be a big project, but we cannot wait to restore it back to its former glory. There's so many details about this building that are gorgeous,' says Joanna.
There will also be a rooftop terrace, a ground-floor restaurant, and a café.
'If you’ve followed our work, you might notice a pattern — that time and time again, Chip and I are drawn to projects that emphasize the value of home,' Joanna wrote on their blog in 2019.
'When a project like the one we’re announcing today comes along, and it bridges what we’re most passionate about — home, hospitality, and restoration — we can’t help but go all-in. '
'Home is a feeling, created by and for the people you love and share your life with; it’s a state of being known and loved just as you are,' the couple added in a joint statement.
'That is our dream for this hotel — that it would serve as an extension of the way we feel about our own home and all it represents to us, and that every guest who comes to stay would experience that same sense of belonging and community.'

Though this is the first hotel for the Gainses, they already have several businesses including the Magnolia House B&B in McGregor, Texas.
Chip and Joanna worked on the 2,868-square-foot 1880s farmhouse on their show and opened it in 2016 — when it quickly booked up for the first six months.
Amenities include free WiFi, Keurig coffee machines, high-end toiletries, bottled water, bath robes, a washer and dryer, laundry detergent, a sewing kit, local guide books, umbrellas, charger cables, board games, a Bluetooth speaker, a full kitchen, and more, according to Country Living.
The couple's new hotel is bound to be equally well-outfitted — and is also likely to book up fast once reservations become available.
