‘I have an obsession with trays’: Inside Shahid and Mira Rajput’s 10,000 square feet Worli home

The four-bedroom duplex is meticulously designed to accommodate the couple’s lifestyle. Shahid, known for his love of music, has a dedicated DJ setup, while the house also boasts a guest suite, an open-air gym, a workspace, a pantry, and a home theatre. Every detail has been thoughtfully curated to ensure a seamless balance between sophistication and practicality.

“Shahid and I have very different aesthetics. He’s experimental and creative, while I’m always thinking about whether it is practical and easy to clean. So it was about finding the balance between form and function,” Mira explained in the house tour video.

Mira, who takes after her mother when it comes to hosting, told AD that their home is always brimming with guests. Whether it’s cricket screenings, movie nights, or pickleball matches, the couple loves entertaining friends and family.

The interiors are peppered with artistic elements, including a striking colour-changing art piece in the dining area and uniquely designed lighting fixtures. “I like to pick up pieces when we travel, and I have an obsession with trays,” Mira told Ad, showcasing her collection from Wedgwood, Chilewich, and various European design stores.

Shahid and Mira’s move to Worli was serendipitous. The actor fell in love with the high-rise apartment during a visit and insisted that his heavily pregnant wife see it. “It wasn’t at all what we were looking at—the location, the size, even in terms of the budget we had in mind. But when I walked in, I knew it was home,” Mira told the publication.

The couple, who previously lived in Juhu, were initially hesitant about relocating to the other side of the Sea Link. However, during the pandemic, while Mira was expecting their son Zain, they spent over 14 months designing their dream home. Architect Annkur Khosla and contractor Laxman Mistry played a pivotal role in bringing their vision to life.
