Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan develop bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation

Bishkek, Dec. 22, 2017. /Kabar/. Following the official visit of Kyrgyz parliamentary delegation to Uzbekistan headed by Speaker Dastanbek Zhumabekov, the signing ceremony of the Action Plan was held to further develop bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Kyrgyz Parliament and the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan for upcoming 2018.

From Kyrgyzstan’s side, the document was signed by Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker, Dastanbek Zhumabekov and the Chairman of Uzbek Senate Oliy Majlis, Nigmatilla Yuldashev.

According to signed Action Plan, a number of events are envisioned to be held next year, including inter-parliamentary meetings at a high level. Within the framework of 11-point document, an official visit to Bishkek of the Chairman of Uzbek Senate Oliy Majlis, Nigmatilla Yuldashev is planned. An interparliamentary commission for cooperation between the Kyrgyz Parliament and the Chairman of Uzbek Senate Oliy Majlis will be established. Moreover, in order to deepen the working contacts, an organization of a mutual exchange of visits by delegations of two countries’ relevant committees and the Parliament office employees will be organized.

The official visit of the Kyrgyz Parliament delegation led by the Speaker started with laying of flowers at the grave of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov in Samarkand. Then a number of high-level meetings were continued in Tashkent, including the meeting of Zhumabekov with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and with the Chairman of Uzbek Senate Oliy Majlis, Nigmatilla Yuldashev. The Kyrgyz delegation also got acquainted with the activity of the Legislative Chamber of the Uzbek Oliy Majlis and held a meeting with the Chairman of this Chamber Nurdinjon Ismoilov.

Moreover, the Kyrgyz Parliament deputies headed by the Speaker visited the permanent exposition "Chynghyz Aitmatov and Uzbekistan", the historical and architectural center "Khazrat Imam" and laid flowers to the monument of "Independence and Humanism".
