The Crow Wing County Household Hazardous Waste Facility now accepts architectural latex paint from contractors and businesses for free.
The HHW facility will be open for this specific waste stream from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month from May through October.
"This free service keeps these chemicals out of our environment, protecting our water resources," said Jake Frie, Crow Wing County environmental services supervisor.
Upon arriving at the county landfill, businesses must stop at the landfill office. The attendant will discuss the items to be disposed and provide directions to the HHW facility. All loads coming to the county landfill must be covered to ensure roadways are not littered with debris.
