Christie Brinkley's former husband Peter Cook, 60, announces engagement to his 21-year-old 'soulmate'

Christie Brinkley's ex-husband Peter Cook, 60, has announced his engagement to 21-year-old college student Alba Jancou.

Cook, an architect, popped the question to the college co-ed  on September 15 in Santorini, Greece, in front of a church.

As news of the engagement emerged, he told Page Six: 'We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have found, in each other, our soulmate.

'We are looking forward to many years of wedded bliss!.' He proposed with a six-carat diamond ring by jewelry designer Glenn Bradford, Page Six reported.

It was reported that the couple were dating after they were seen at several events in the Hamptons over the summer. 

A source told the publication: 'They originally met two years ago at Le Bilboquet, but didn’t start dating until a year ago. They are planning a destination wedding in Europe.'

In the engagement pictures, the couple are dressed entirely in white as they are seen admiring her ring in one image as they look from a view point on the Greek island.

In another image they are seen embracing each other and smiling gleefully at one another.

According to Page Six, Jancou’s LinkedIn page said she will graduate from Tulane University in Louisiana in 2021. 

In the page she said she 'attended a prestigious English private boarding school,'called Millfield.

Cook famously split with supermodel Christie Brinkley in 2008 after cheating on her with Diana Bianchi who he had hired to work at his architecture firm as an assistant at age 18. The former couple are pictured together in 1998

Jancou has also trained at a prestigious New York art gallery, however her LinkedIn page is now no longer available.  

Over the summer the couple was at chef Bobby Flay’s Hamptons magazine cover party, and two East Hampton charity events.

The couple, who were married for six years, then fought a bitter custody battle over their children, Sailor and Jack, as well as a fierce legal fight over money.

Jancou is expected to graduate from Tulaine University in 2021

Cook's attorney denied any infidelity but Brinkley still emerged the winner, handing him just $2.1million of her estimated $60million fortune.

There were also reports that during the time he was dating Brinkley, whom he married in 1996, Cook was allegedly carrying on a relationship with then 19-year-old, Samantha Cole.

Following his divorce from Christie Brinkley, he went on to marry Suzanne Shaw and they later split in 2014. 

Bianchi, who was the daughter of the Brinkley-Cooks' neighbour, had a year-long affair with Cook which started in 2005 when Bianchi was 18 years old and working as his assistant.

Brinkley was told of the affair in 2007 and ended their ten-year marriage which saw her and Cook embark on a very public court battle.

During the 2008 divorce, the court was told that Cook had paid Bianchi $300,000 in the hope she would keep the liaison quiet.

The supermodel gained sole custody of their daughter Sailor, now 21, and 24-year-old Jack, the son of her ex Richard Taubman but later adopted by Peter Cook.

Sailor Brinkley recently appeared on Dancing with the Stars but was sent home last week despite her repeated high scores.

Viewer voting left Sailor, 21, and her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy, 33, in the bottom with Ally Brooke, 26, and Sasha Farber, 35.

The judges decided their fate and Carrie Ann Inaba, 51, and Bruno Tonioli, 63, voted for Ally based on her performances throughout the season.

Sailor famously filled in for her mother, Christie Brinkley, after the 65-year-old model had an injury during pre-show rehearsals and had to bow out.

Brinkley, 65, broke her arm during rehearsal for Dancing With The Stars just five days before the show's September 16 season 28 premiere.

The model after learning that she was assigned pro partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy, 33, found out they would be performing to Uptown Girl.

'My theme song,' said Brinkley who starred in the music video for the 1983 song by her ex-husband Billy Joel, 70.

They started rehearsing and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition model while moving behind Val as he was kneeling tripped on his foot.

She tumbled to the hardwood floor and immediately clutched her right wrist.

Brinkley then recruited her 21-year-old model daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook to take her place.
