Sharon Rose Winn

June 10, 1954-May 31, 2023

Sharon Rose Winn, age 68,  passed away in her home in St George, Utah, on May 31, 2023. She was born on June 10, 1954, in Nashua, New Hampshire, to Roy and Anita Moses. She was the youngest of four children and the only girl. She married her best friend Rodney Winn, on Dec. 10, 1993, in Castle Rock, Colorado.

Sharon was raised in New Hampshire for most of her early life until her family moved to Sandford, Maine, in 1970. There she finished high school. After graduating from high school, she worked in the Converse sneaker factory.  She moved to Hawaii where she began her career in the U.S. Air Force.

Sharon was a quick learner and became an administrative assistant to the base commander on Hickam AFB. Once Sharon competed for an early promotion and was selected for that promotion. As an additional reward, she was given the opportunity to fly in a T-33 trainer jet with the pilot. She was given the stick and allowed to fly the plane. It began her love of jet fighters. To this day she would let out a scream when she heard a jet fly over.

Later she was selected to go to the Air Force paralegal school from which she graduated and became a military paralegal.  After moving to Colorado, she continued her career.  She later separated from the Air Force and became the executive assistant to the president of an architectural firm in Colorado Springs.

After her marriage to Rodney Winn, his job took them to Cleveland, Ohio. It was there she began working for the Department of Defense General Counsel’s office as a civilian paralegal. It was also in Ohio that Sharon joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Sharon and Rod were sealed in the Washington D.C. temple on Nov. 8, 1997. Sharon began her love for playing the piano and quilting while living in Ohio. She has made several beautiful quilts that adorn her home.

Sharon was blessed to serve as a temple ordinance worker in both the Columbus, Ohio, and St. George temples for five years each. She and her husband also served a mission in Johannesburg, South Africa, from February 2017 to August 2018.

Sharon counts as very special blessings in her life three wonderful granddaughters: Lexi, Hadley and Harper.

Sharon and Rod loved to travel and were fortunate to visit 38 countries and many locations in these wonderful United States. She loved to water ski and was an avid hiker, golfer and runner.

She is survived by her husband Rod and his four children: Jeff; Gregery and his wife Julie and their daughter Lexi; Bradley and his wife Christina her daughter Rachel; Laura and her husband Justin and their daughters, Hadley and Harper. She is also survived by her brothers Al Moses and Brian Moses.
