U.S. Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Missouri 7th District, is the lead author of a letter calling on alumni and donors to Columbia University in New York to cut off funding.

The letter follows numerous anti-Israeli and pro-Palestinian protests at the Ivy League school that have disrupted campus life and spawned similar protests at college campuses across the country. That includes recent protests at Washington University in St. Louis.

In the “open letter to Columbia University alumni and donors,” Burlison and 14 other U.S. House Republicans urge them to cease all financial donations “until there are demostrable changes in leadership, including the resignation of Columbia University President Minouche Shafik.”

U.S. Rep. Jason Smith, R-Missouri 8th District, also signed the letter.
