TOP 15 STANDOUTS

Ciara Seifert, John Marshall

There have been a number of individual performances that have leaped out in the last few weeks among area girls basketball players. But none was quite to the level of Seifert's, JM’s double-double machine. It came in a 71-58 loss to Austin, but the 6-foot-2 senior scored 32 points and grabbed 27 rebounds — yes, 27. For the season, Seifert is averaging 17.3 points and 15.1 rebounds per game.

Audrey Shindelar, Stewartville

The Tigers junior guard seems to wind up in this Top Performers list every installment. She’s done it again, this time based on a 36-points outburst against No. 1 Class 1A ranked Goodhue on Jan. 11, a 77-70 Tigers comeback win. She also had a 28-points, 10-rebounds outing on Jan. 24 in a lopsided win over Cannon Falls.

1,000-points club

It was a heck of a last week and half for southeastern Minnesota players joining the 1,000-career points scoring club.

Four different players did it — Lourdes junior forward Lauren Hust, Byron junior forward Madison Ohm, Caledonia junior forward Aubrie Klug and Kasson-Mantorville senior guard Keigan Cummings.
