Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner are finally telling Khloé Kardashian how they feel.
After seeing Kardashian’s reunion with Lamar Odom on the first episode of Season 6 of “The Kardashians,” Kendall Jenner told Kylie Jenner that she felt like her older sister was “cold” towards Odom.
Kardashian and Odom were married for four years until she filed for divorce from the former Lakers star in 2013. Odom was later found unresponsive in a brothel in 2015 after an overdose and was hospitalized on life support. Kardashian remained by his side during his recovery.
In 2016, the duo ended their marriage for good when they officially got divorced. On the show, Kardashian said that she hadn’t seen Odom in nine years, but she wanted to reunite with him so that she could return some of his belongings.
Their face-to-face meeting, which played out over the first two episodes of Season 6, was tense. Kardashian lost her cool when Odom called her “babe.” Her sisters thought she could have been kinder during the meeting.
“I could tell you were shut off,” Kendall Jenner told Kardashian. “Like, it wasn’t that you were blatantly being mean or rude. It was just like — are you thinking people are going to judge the way you handle it? Or is it that you’re more guarded? I don’t know.”
Kendall Jenner elaborated in a confessional, saying, “I think she’s still holding on to a lot, I see such a hostility, still and almost like, there’s definitely a wall, definitely a coldness. I’m sure it’s anger. I’m sure there’s so many reasons as to why.”
Kardashian responded to her sister and told her that she didn’t notice she was “getting really anxious” during her reunion with Odom. She explained that some “triggers” happened during the event, like him showing up late and sweating.
“I could tell in the moment I’m so guarded,” Kardashian said in a confessional. “I knew this man so well, and I was a secret keeper, a lover, a best friend. I was so many things, and then you’re just nothing, and then to see someone … it’s almost like this flood of emotions. It’s so many things to process. But in that moment, I could tell I was really uncomfortable.”
While talking with her sisters, Kardashian explained that she might’ve acted like a “b---h” during her reunion with Odom because she’s so used to people “nitpicking” her small gestures and she didn’t want anyone to “read into this too much because it’s not like that.”
“But also, I think a lot of it is a defense mechanism that I am just like, be a b----,” she said.
“Would you call him again if you feel that way, and just be like, ‘Hey, I handled that, maybe not how I would have liked?” Kylie Jenner asked.
Kardashian told her youngest sister that she wouldn’t have a problem with calling Odom up and telling him that she might’ve been a little rude during their encounter.
Kendall Jenner, who had sympathy for Kardashian, said, “At this point for yourself, I would almost say you have to find it within you to forgive. You don’t have to forget.”
The interaction made Kardashian realize how much her younger sisters don’t understand the situation between her and Odom.
“I think what is so frustrating about all of this is that they don’t really understand. I think anyone that knows my situation or that has been in that situation would be a different version of themselves this many years later. It would be foolish not to be,” she said in a confessional. “You have to protect yourself and grow from that scenario. I’m a different person than I was, and that’s not bad or good, it just is what it is.”
Kardashian explained she put up her walls for a reason.
“Of course, my family can see that there’s walls and there is but I had to put up these walls to protect myself, to protect my feelings, my heart,” she said. “I think it would be foolish of me to not have walls. You never go back into that same situation.”
Kardashian then tried to explain this to Kendall and Kylie Jenner and said that even though she roots for her exes, she does “get offended, whether it be Tristan or Lamar,” when do “outrageous things” and pretend they never happened.
“So what does it say on my forehead? F--king doormat?” she said. “And it probably does to these people, because I have been in so many different ways, but then that gets taken advantage of.”
Kardashian added that seeing Odom was an “out of body experience, for sure.”
“I don’t disagree with Kendall. I think I definitely could have been nicer, or my tone could have been softer,” she said. “But also, there’s so much going on I can’t even explain the emotions, the thoughts. The very last time I saw this person was very contentious and negative. It wasn’t good. So is this my best moment in life? No.”
Kardashian used the meeting to be more honest about her marriage to Odom.
“When you guys met was he open about his drug struggle?” Kendall Jenner asked.
“No, I never knew he did drugs until probably a year and a half into our marriage,” Kardashian responded.
Kendall Jenner noted that her sister’s response made her realize how much she and Kylie Jenner didn’t know Odom because Kardashian kept “so much” information away from them “in a good way.”
