The fair, taking place from April 11 to 13 in Madrid, celebrated Peru's cultural richness, diversity of ingredients, and gastronomic heritage under the slogan "Sabores con Historia" (Flavors with History).
During the inauguration, Minister Leon expressed her pride in bringing this fair to Europe for the first time.
"Today, 'Peru Mucho Gusto' —Peru's most important gastronomic fair— crosses borders and arrives in Madrid, marking the beginning of a new stage in the promotion of our cuisine around the world," she stated.
The Cabinet member highlighted that since its creation, the fair has gathered more than 2,000 exhibitors and received over 800,000 visitors across its 26 national editions.
"Madrid was chosen for its relevance in the gastronomic sphere, its historical ties with Peru, and for being a vibrant city passionate about good food. Here, we want to win hearts and palates with the best of our cuisine," she added.

"Peru Mucho Gusto" offers a unique gastronomic experience distributed across various thematic areas: a restaurant zone offering emblematic dishes, a Pisco 360 bar for tasting and learning about Peru's flagship spirit, a superfoods area with export products, live cooking zones, crafts and decoration, artistic performances, and a space dedicated to the promotion of tourism in Peru.
The minister emphasized the economic and touristic impact of the event.

"Thanks to the efforts of our chefs and entrepreneurs, we not only promote Peruvian gastronomic culture but also generate employment, strengthen agro-exports, and position Peru as a leading tourist destination. Over 10,000 people will visit the fair these days, tasting dishes that not only delight but also tell stories," Leon noted.
Dishes such as Ceviche, Aji de Gallina, Tiradito, Carapulcra, Papa Rellena, and the ever-popular Pollo a la Brasa are featured during the fair, accompanied by desserts, traditional drinks, and artistic performances that invite visitors to discover Peru with all five senses.

Minister Leon highlighted the effort behind this first internationalization.
"With the support of President Dina Boluarte, we decided to take this fair to the world, starting with Spain, one of our main sources of tourists and where Peruvian cuisine is already well-positioned, with more than 500 restaurants across the country," she said.

Two new fairs in the U.S. and Brazil
In addition to the fair in Madrid, the minister announced that two additional "Peru Mucho Gusto" fairs are being planned abroad: one in New York and another in Brazil.
"This ambitious proposal is part of our strategy to strengthen gastronomic tourism, conquer new markets, and surpass our goals in terms of international visitors to Peru," Leon affirmed.
With "Peru Mucho Gusto," the South American country not only invites people to enjoy its flavors but also to discover its touristic, cultural, and natural richness.
"If one dish is not enough, we'll be waiting for you in Peru, with open arms and a table set," she concluded.

Important
The opening ceremony was attended by Peruvian Ambassador to Spain Luis Iberico; and Royal Academy of Gastronomy of Spain Chairman Luis Suarez de Lezo; among other distinguished guests.
During her workday in Madrid, the head of Mincetur also participated in the signing ceremony of the alliance between USIL and the Aspasia Group of Spain.
This agreement is significant and aims to train more professionals in gastronomy.
