AUKUS is in the ‘strategic interests’ of the United States

Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles says AUKUS is in the “strategic interests” of the United States.

Democrat Senator Tim Kaine has warned the AUKUS military pact may be at risk because of US President Donald Trump’s tariffs on steel and aluminium.

“AUKUS is in the strategic interests of the United States,” Mr Marles told Sky News Australia.

“One thing we’ve seen from President Trump is a focus on the interests of the United States.”
