A Peak District farm shop that sits within the grounds of one of the UK's best-known stately homes has been named as the UK's most popular in a recent survery. Chatsworth Estate has long been known for its beautiful scenary, roaming sheep and deer, and stunning architecture - but many visitors may be unaware of the fantastic offerings at its farm shop that lies a little further afield.

Lying on the B6048 near Pilsley, around a mile north-east of Chatsworth House itself, Chatsworth Farm Shop sells a host of locally sourced, high-quality goods, from fresh fruit and veg to meat, dairy and deli products. It has been revealed as the most popular farm shop in the UK by car experts at SIXT - who say it gained more than 10 times the number of searches than Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm Shop, which came second.

Speaking on what makes Chatsworth Farm Shop so special, a spokesperson for SIXT said: "Nestled towards the edge of the Chatsworth estate, the Chatsworth Farm Shop offers a wide variety of locally sourced produce and gifts that are the perfect addition to anyone's pantry.

"Filled to the brim with delights, it is no wonder it has topped the ranking as the UK’s top trending farm shop for 2025. With 51,800 posts dedicated to the location on TikTok, it’s no surprise that over 1.1 million people have searched for the estate over the past 30 days."

BBC and Amazon Prime star Jeremy Clarkson's well-known Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Cheshire’s popular Hollies Farm Shop are were also named on the list, placing second and third, respectively, followed by Daylesford Farm Shop in Gloucester and Gloucestershire Services - with the latter known for it's shrub-covered roof, likely a familiar site for Derbyshire folk who enjoy a trip to Cornwall in the summer months.

When asked what makes the farm shop so special, manager Liam Spivey said: "It’s wonderful to have been recognised as the nation’s top trending farm shop following Sixt’s latest research. It’s a great reflection of the hard work and dedication of the team, and the high-quality, locally sourced produce that we stock.’

“What sets Chatsworth’s Farm Shop apart is the delicious produce sourced from the estate and from trusted, local suppliers that share our commitment to quality and sustainability; from our traditional butchery to the handmade patisserie and array of specially selected wines and spirits infused with Chatsworth Garden botanicals.

Liam added: "We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support of our customers, especially our local communities, and it’s also a privilege to welcome people from across the UK to share the fantastic produce that Derbyshire has to offer.”

As you'd expect from such a big name in such a wonderful part of our county, the farm shop has roaring reviews from nearly 1,000 visitors in Google. One visitor, Snizhana Sahinadze, said: "My favourite farm products store. I'm a frequent visitor here because I live nearby.

"Most often I buy natural yoghurts, cheese, sauce and sour cream here. Also, in winter, there are the best vegetables and greens. There is always a large selection of pastries, drinks, natural orange juice, many colours, as well as sweets, fish, and meat for every taste. There's a really cool team of employees here."

Nabila Kara said: "Me and my family visited Chatsworth Farm shop and we were thrilled to see the variety of fresh/organic fruit and veg available. The place was very clean and the toilets were commendable. A thoroughly polished area with some cattle to see as well ad the Chatsworth estate only 5 minutes drive away from the shop. It was a lovely day out for us."

The B6048 can be accessed via Bakewell Road from the north near Baslow, or via the B6012, which runs through the Chatsworth Estate, from the south. The shop is open from 9am to 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 5pm on Sundays.
