Curaçao Is Getting New Nonstop Flights From Peru

By: Caitlin Sullivan - May 13, 2025 - 10:52 am

Curaçao is making a new move to deepen its footprint in South America.

Beginning Dec. 2, LATAM Airlines will launch nonstop service between Lima, Peru and Curaçao, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The new flights will operate three times per week — on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays — connecting Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima with Curaçao International Airport.

A new connection to South America

The new route will mark the first direct connection between Curaçao and Peru, creating a new gateway for South American travelers to reach the Dutch Caribbean island. It’s a not to the growing import of South America to the Caribbean tourism market, particularly Southern Caribbean destinations like Curaçao and nearby Aruba.

Officials say the Lima route will also enhance Curaçao’s connectivity with other key markets across South America, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay, thanks to LATAM’s network reach.

Flights from Lima will depart at 12:00 p.m. and arrive in Curaçao at 5:40 p.m.; return flights from Curaçao to Lima will depart at 6:45 p.m., arriving in Lima at 10:25 p.m.

For Curaçao, it’s not just about inbound travel. The new service will also give residents of Curaçao more options for regional business and leisure travel, the Tourist Board said.

The announcement is the result of a partnership between the Curaçao Tourist Board, Curaçao Airport Partners, the Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association, and Curaçao Airport Holding.

It’s the latest in a wave of new airlift to Curaçao, which continues to show strong growth in visitor arrivals — and an expanding presence on the radar of regional and international carriers.

Are you heading to Curacao? Want some tips on where to stay?

Avila Beach Hotel

One of Curaçao’s longest-operating hotels, Avila sits along a calm stretch of coastline just east of downtown Willemstad. It has 150 rooms across three wings, including a historic Dutch Caribbean mansion and a modern, octagon-shaped tower. There are two beaches on property, plus easy walking access to the bars and restaurants of Pietermaai. Our tip? Don’t miss the legendary live music. $262 per night, according to Google Hotels.

Baoase Luxury Resort

This low-density beachfront luxury resort offers just 23 Bali-inspired accommodations, most tucked into landscaped grounds behind stone walls and wooden gates. Some units have private plunge pools, others open directly onto the sand. The resort’s design favors privacy and quiet, with open-air dining and optional in-room spa services. It’s our favorite resort on the whole island. $1,823.

Kura Botanica Hotel

A repurposed 18th-century structure, Kura Botanica has been converted into a 46-room adults-only hotel surrounded by botanical gardens. It’s located in Otrobanda, a short walk from the Queen Emma floating bridge and the city’s harborfront. The rooms retain their original architecture, with stone walls and shuttered windows. $182 per night.

Dreams Curacao Adults-Only Wing, “Il Mare”

This separate wing within the existing Dreams Curaçao resort that opened last summer consists of 52 modular oceanfront suites (think modern bungalows), each about 377 square feet. The standalone units include access to a dedicated beach zone, infinity pool, and butler service. It’s positioned as an alternative for travelers seeking a quieter space within a larger all-inclusive. $309 per night.

Brion City Hotel

For visitors planning to explore Willemstad on foot, Brion City Hotel is one of the most centrally located stays. It sits at the entrance to Otrobanda, facing the Queen Emma Bridge and just steps from the harbor. The hotel has 101 rooms and a rooftop pool with city views, plus direct access to nearby shops and ferry routes. It’s also one of the island’s best values. $110 per night.
