Jubilee Pool is set to celebrate its 90th anniversary with a splash.
The Art Deco seawater lido, which opened in 1935 to commemorate King George V's Silver Jubilee, will host a day of festivities on Saturday, May 31.
The celebrations will begin at 11am and will include a singalong and splash event, with 90 swimmers jumping into the pool together before a birthday cake is cut.
There will also be a historical exhibition showcasing the pool's journey through the decades, a surf lifesaving demonstration by St Ives Surf Life Saving Club, a poolside yoga session, and a synchronised swimming workshop.
Live music will be provided by Twin Harmony in the afternoon and 1930s swing band Company B in the evening.
Visitors are encouraged to dress in 1930s-inspired swimwear or bring their brightest festival attire.
Nicola Murdoch, CEO of Jubilee Pool, said: "We want the pool to shine on its special day, so dust off those vintage costumes, striped bathing suits, and glamorous poolside fashion – or come decked in your most colourful festival gear.
"Let's make this a visual celebration as stunning as our Art Deco gem."
Limited edition commemorative merchandise, including vintage-inspired posters, postcards, anniversary t-shirts, and swimming caps, will be available to purchase during the weekend.
All proceeds will be reinvested into the running and preservation of the pool.
Susan Stuart, director of Jubilee Pool Penzance, said: "For 90 years, Jubilee Pool has been at the heart of Penzance's identity.
"The pool has weathered storms both literal and figurative – from wartime challenges to devastating winter damage – yet thanks to the community's unwavering support, it continues to thrive as a beloved swimming destination and architectural treasure."
In recent years, the pool has combined historical preservation with innovation, adding a geothermally heated section in 2020.
Nicola Murdoch said: "The 90th anniversary celebration honours both our rich heritage and our exciting future.
"As we look toward our centenary, we remain committed to ensuring this extraordinary facility continues to serve generations to come."
