SKOWHEGAN, Maine (WABI) - A man is facing charges after police say they found 20 grams of fentanyl on him during a welfare check.

Lucas Gage, 36, was arrested at a Skowhegan drugstore on Friday.

Skowhegan Police say Gage had an expired learner’s permit from 2006 and reportedly tried to drive away from police, which led to his arrest.

Police searched him and found three bags of fentanyl.

Gage has been charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs, operating without a license, and refusing to submit to arrest or detention.

He was taken to Somerset County Jail, where bail has been set at $10,000.
