Alisha Lehmann's Switzerland have suffered an embarrassing defeat to an U15 boys football team.
Switzerland are set to host Euro 2025 next week, which will kick off with Iceland's clash against Finland on Wednesday (2 July). Switzerland will then face Norway at St. Jakob-Park, Basel, later in the evening.
However, their preparation took an almighty hit when they shipped seven to FC Luzern's U15 team in a closed-door friendly. The result was, according to reports in Switzerland, supposed to be kept a secret.
However, one of the youngster posted snaps from the game in a now deleted TikTok. He would also reveal the score in the comments section of the video.
Sven Micossé, who is the head of communications for the women's national team, said: "It's not uncommon in women's football to compete against junior teams. The goal: to bring a certain competitive element.
"The focus during this phase of preparation is on the physical aspect. Regardless of the result, these training matches are very similar to our international matches in terms of intensity and mileage."
Alayah Pilgrim was Switzerland's sole goalscorer during the match, while the pictures also revealed Lehmann had played a part in the friendly.
Lehmann's participation at her home Euros had been questioned after she was dropped from the national team earlier this season after struggling for minutes at Juventus.
Reports from Switzerland add that a few days before the Luzern match, they had already faced two other youth teams.
The women had lost 2-1 to FC Solothurn's U15 team, but beat FC Biel's U15 team 2-1.
The Euro 2025 hosts are due to play another friendly against Czechia on Thursday.
