BURLINGTON — The Make-A-Wish All Star Hockey Classic will be celebrating its 33rd year for the men’s game and 28th year for the women’s contest when the teams meet on Saturday at the University of Vermont’s Gutterson Field House. The event showcases the top 2025 high school graduates from Vermont against their counterparts from New Hampshire. Friday will feature a skills competition at 7:15 p.m., while Saturday’s girls game will begin at 3:30 p.m. prior to the 6 p.m. boys game. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for students (ages 7-17) and free for children 6 and under. Tickets will be available at the door. All proceeds go to fulfill special wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Hockey Classic has raised more than $345,000 toward those wishes. The Vermont’s men’s team will boast two players from Rutland High School — forward Ethan Wideawake and goalie Noah Bruttomesso. U-32 boasts two players on the Vermont men’s team with forwards Maddox Heise and Colton Warren and U-32’s rival Spaulding will be represented by forward Carel Paquin.
