Samuel Hamilton hit two home runs and Benton Enright hit another as Independence swept West Delaware, 6-1 and 14-7, on Monday in Manchester.
The two WaMaC foes met Friday night in the 3A playoffs in Manchester.
Independence (13-7 WaMaC East, tied for second) batted 30 for 65 (.461) in the twinbill, with four doubles, three homers and nine walks, eight in the 14-7 win. It stole 11 bases, with 10 in the 14-7 win.
Enright went 5 for 6 with four runs batted in while Hamilton was 4 for 7 with four RBI. Bryce Christian and Andrew Rottinghaus each went 5 for 8.
Kameron Kremer threw a complete game with eight strikeouts in the 6-1 win. He allowed four hits, walked two and hit two.
Jacob Mulford struck out five in four innings in game 2. He allowed all seven runs, with six earned.
The Mustangs fell to Cedar Falls, 12-11 on Tuesday in their final regular season game. Independence closed within a score with two runs in the top of the seventh but could not get closer.
The game was tied at six going into the sixth. The Mustangs scored three runs, but the Tigers scored six to take a 12-9 lead.
Independence (23-16) batted .406 (13 for 32), with Enright (3 for 3) and Hamilton (home run) driving in three apiece. Meyer and Rottinghaus each went 2 for 4 with three runs apiece.
Independence softball falls twice to Clear Creek Amana
The Mustangs fell in their final regular-season WaMaC East doubleheader Monday, losing 10-0 and 8-3 to Clear Creek-Amana.
Khloe Prenosil went 3 for 4 in Game 2 and Bella Louvar scored two runs and stole two bases. Independence was no-hit in Game 1.
A Class 4A Region 1 playoff at WaMaC East rival Marion was postponed until Friday afternoon because of rain Thursday night. It began at 3 p.m.; the winner plays tonight at Bondurant-Farrar.
Jesup softball 7, Hudson 4

Hudson scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning during the Class 2A Region 5 quarterfinal on Wednesday in Jesup. That inning pulled the Pirates withing one run (5-4)
It took another inning, but Jesup (25-10) responded with Peyton Weber’s two-run homer to hold off Hudson for a playoff victory. The J-Hawks played at Lisbon on Friday in the regional semifinal.
Jesup scored three in the first, two in the third and two in the fifth.
Daley Donlea allowed a pair of two-out singles in the top of the seventh, but Dylan Vogel got a two-pitch save. Donlea allowed nine hits and a walk and struck out one.
Weber went 2 for 4 and drove in five. Marlie Schissel went 3 for 3 with a walk and two runs. Kylie Herget-Miller and Sara Mead each went 2 for 3. Hayden Kresser scored twice.
