Bahrain’s Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Civil Defense Council, His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, welcomed the Director-General of Pakistan's Border Affairs Organization and his accompanying delegation on Sunday morning.

The meeting, also attended by Deputy Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel and Public Security Chief Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, focused on enhancing civil protection and shelter management.

General Shaikh Rashid expressed his appreciation for the close and longstanding ties between Bahrain and Pakistan, highlighting the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation, especially in emergency response and civil safety.

He emphasized the importance of coordination, knowledge exchange, and adopting best practices in civil emergency management to improve readiness, ensure public safety, and enhance response to various risks.

During the meeting, the Bahraini side presented its national experience in civil protection. This included Bahrain’s efforts through the National Civil Protection Platform, the publication of a detailed technical guide for shelters and evacuation centers, and the launch of public awareness campaigns to promote safe behavior in emergencies.

Both sides discussed mutual interests and explored ways to deepen collaboration, face emerging challenges, and build a safer environment for all.
