Former SCOP Falhun joins the Maf Roda Group

"Strengthening the Group's local roots in Brittany and integrating new equipment range"

A real synergy and complementarity led to the integration of Falhun within the Maf Roda Group. "Falhun and the Maf Roda Group are fortunate to share the same entrepreneurial spirit, with managers and teams who are committed, qualified, and driven by the same passion to satisfy their clients. With its experience in potatoes and alliums, Falhun brings the Maf Roda Group specific knowledge, a complementary product range, new clients, as well as the introduction of a new market segment and local after-sales service for Maf Roda equipment in Brittany," explains Thomas Blanc, CEO of Maf Agrobotic-Groupe Maf Roda.

For Falhun, joining the Maf Roda Group is "a real growth accelerator, giving access to a larger stock of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical parts, a sales force present throughout the world, and a range of complementary products and solutions. This integration also gives us access to expertise in electronic vision, handling, and case palletization, not to mention the design of turnkey projects, enabling us to manage simple lines as well as highly sophisticated, fully automated systems."

At the beginning of January 2025, SCOP Falhun became Falhun-Groupe MAF. The agreement, finalized in the last quarter of 2024, relaunches Falhun. During the 2nd quarter of 2025, the Maf Roda Group completed its takeover of Falhun, based in Plouénan in the heart of a key vegetable-growing region. Falhun had already been a technical partner of Maf Agrobotic in the Brittany region for over ten years. As for the Maf Roda Group, it was already present in Brittany with several client installations, notably for tomatoes, artichokes, and broccoli." The acquisition follows on from this technical and commercial relationship, and the need for Maf Agrobotic to fully assert itself in this region, where the greenhouse tomato market segment and other vegetables such as cucumbers and peppers are predominant. "Falhun has been designing and manufacturing equipment for these markets since 1989, and has developed recognized know-how and expertise in the market for special machinery for the fruit and vegetable sector. This acquisition will enable us to integrate new ranges of equipment into our turnkey solutions for sorting and packaging facilities in greenhouses for tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers in particular, and thus broaden the Maf Roda Group's offer."

With over 1,350 employees in total and 12 production sites around the world, including in France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, the USA, Mexico, Australia, South Africa and China, as well as sales and after-sales facilities in Italy, New Zealand, Chile and Peru, the Maf Roda Group offers customized, turnkey sorting, grading and packaging solutions for a wide variety of fruit and vegetables, including apples, pears, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, broccoli, artichokes, Brussels sprouts, potatoes and carrots. "Falhun, which is now part of this major French group, is seeing its market potential grow, with the possibility of opening up to the European and international markets. The Plouénan site is beginning the process of strengthening its technical teams to meet a growing demand, and is looking for new employees with qualifications in design, automation, electromechanical, maintenance, and assembly. In any case, this acquisition is a sure sign that Falhun will be renewing and expanding its business in the near future.
