Uzbekistan restores part of international highway

Reconstruction of the 85-kilometer highway has been completed in the Kyzylkum Desert located in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan, the press service of the State Motor Roads Committee of Uzbekistan stated on April 24.

According to the information, a stretch of the A-380 “Guzar – Bukhara – Nukus – Beynau” international route on the section from the 335th to 440th kilometer is a part of the “Europe – Asia” transcontinental highway and the Uzbek National Highway. It links Central Asia with the Caucasus, countries of Eastern and Central Europe and Russia.

More than 600 people took part in the reconstruction of the roadway, with over 400 units of road construction equipment being used.

The restored road was surfaced with a mixture of cement and concrete. The road is designed for of up to 120-km/h speed. It has two lanes in each direction, with the width of each being 7.5 meters.
