A Maine man is accused of threatening a shooting at Central Maine Community College, officials with the Sagadahoc County Sheriff's Office said.
Darren Lilly, 23, of Bowdoinham, was charged Monday with terrorizing, Sheriff Joel Merry said in a news release.
Investigators arrested Lilly around 5:30 p.m. at his home. Deputies had received information that Lilly allegedly made threats to the school and that he was in the possession of several guns.
People familiar with Lilly took the threats seriously and reported them, Merry said.
Lilly posted $1,000 bond and is barred from owning guns or entering the city of Auburn. His guns were seized from his vehicle and his home.
Lilly is due in court in September.
