Jenna Bush Hager has revealed that she and her husband, Henry Hager, still sleep on the same mattress they bought on layaway when they got married nearly 16 years ago.
The Today star, who was fresh off a girls' trip to Florida, waxed poetic about her 'matronly' bed on Wednesday's show while discussing Sofia Vergara's Architectural Digest tour of her Los Angeles home.
Bush Hager, 42, recalled how the mattress was their 'biggest investment' after they wed at her family's Prairie Chapel Ranch near Crawford, Texas, on May 10, 2008.
'By the way, we bought a bed, Henry and I, the first year we got married,' she told her co-host Hoda Kotb. 'It was a Tempur-Pedic, it was called "The Celebrity Bed." We've had it since we got married. That's almost 20 years.'

The morning show host revealed that she and her husband, Henry Hager, still sleep on the same Tempur-Pedic mattress they bought when they got married nearly 16 years ago
'But aren't the indentations too deep?' Kotb, 59, asked.
'It probably is,' Bush Hager replied, 'but it was our biggest investment of whatever year it was. We paid it off on layaway. Henry got a pay plan for our mattress.'
A mattress should be replaced around every seven years, according to the Better Sleep Council. However, it may last longer depending on the materials, usage, and care.
The Tempur-Pedic Celebrity Bed model is no longer in production, but the pillowtop foam mattress reportedly cost $3,600 for a queen when it was released in 2008.
Although the mattress was not cheap, it was a splurge that paid off for Bush Hager and her husband, Henry, who continue to sleep on it nearly two decades later.
'We still have her; she's lovely,' the former first daughter reiterated. 'And again, she's gotten older, but she's just beautiful.'
Bush Hager couldn't resist pointing out that she and Kotb view their beds differently than Vergara does.
'Do you like how Sofía Vergara talks about how her bed is sexy, and we talk about it [as being] just straight-up practical,' she asked. 'Her bed is sexy and our bed is matronly.'

'Because that’s who we are. Our bed is for sleeping,' Kotb said with a laugh.
'Her bed is wearing a negligee and some tights, and our bed is wearing long-sleeve flannel pajamas,' Bush Hager joked.
Kotb added that they both love their beds before describing the feeling of getting under the covers after bathing and curling up with a book until you fall asleep.
The Today stars recently celebrated Bush Hager's four-year-old son, Hal, graduating to a 'big boy bed' after she was 'shamed' over him sleeping in a crib.
A few months ago, the mother of three caused an uproar on the show when she admitted that her youngest child was still in a crib and wanted to stay in it until he was in kindergarten.
Bush Hager said she tried to nudge Hal into his bed after facing backlash over him sleeping in a crib.

The mother of three recently celebrated her only son graduating to a 'big boy bed' after she was 'shamed' over him sleeping in a crib
'Y’all had shamed me, and really the whole community had shamed me for the fact that he was in a crib. You all shamed me a little,' she recalled.
'And I said, "Okay, Hal, I think it’s time, some friends have said it’s time to move!" And he was not ready, he was scared.'
Bush Hager said she was 'quarantined' in her room with COVID-19 when Hal decided it was time to say goodbye to his crib.
She shared how her husband ran into their son's room after hearing him yell, 'Daddy!'
'He went in and [Hal] said, "I'm ready." And Henry said, "You're ready for what?" He said, "I need to move into my big boy bed."'
She explained that her son's bed had been in his room 'for about two years' before he was willing to sleep in it.
'It all happened without his mother’s help! And it leaves me to wonder if I’m too overbearing when it comes just to him,' she said.
Bush Hager is also mom to two daughters, Mila, ten, and Poppy, eight.
